  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of commercial agreements, providing advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Identify, monitor, and manage commercial risks while maintaining accurate management information and performance data.

Essential:

  • Experience in commercial management, procurement, sourcing, contract management, or a related commercial environment.
  • Experience supporting or managing commercial agreements or contracts throughout their lifecycle.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal colleagues.
  • Experience monitoring supplier performance against contractual obligations, KPIs, and service levels.
  • Experience supporting procurement or sourcing projects and delivering work to agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to deliver commercial value, efficiencies, or cost savings.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate commercial solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, documentation, and presenting information to stakeholders.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience maintaining accurate commercial records, performance information, and management data.
  • Knowledge of commercial risk management principles.
  • Eligibility to obtain BPSS security clearance.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within the UK public sector or a regulated environment.
  • Understanding of UK public procurement legislation and procurement best practice.
  • Experience preparing procurement documentation such as specifications, award criteria, pricing schedules, and tender documentation.
  • Experience of supplier relationship management and continuous performance improvement.
  • Experience delivering measurable commercial savings or value-for-money initiatives.
  • Knowledge of category management or strategic sourcing methodologies.
  • Experience using procurement, commercial, or contract management systems.
  • Membership of, or progress towards, a professional procurement qualification such as CIPS.
