On behalf of DCMS, we are looking for a Lead Construction Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month hybrid contract based in London (2 days per week on site).


As a Lead Construction Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:


  • Drive end-to-end construction delivery, ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
  • Hold contractors accountable for programme performance and cost control, proactively managing deviations and ensuring alignment with agreed baselines.
  • Identify and manage project risks (e.g. permitting delays, supply chain issues, budget pressures), implementing mitigation strategies to maintain programme certainty.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the client/developer and the design team (Architects, Engineers), ensuring clear communication and alignment on objectives.
  • Coordinate across professional services, contractors, key stakeholders, and DCMS, ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery.
  • Provide regular, clear, and data-driven updates to DCMS senior leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and key decisions.


Essential:


  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and delivery best practices.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and cost control in complex environments.
  • Working knowledge of major contract forms such as JCT and NEC, including administration and risk allocation.
  • Advanced proficiency in project planning tools such as Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project, with a deep understanding of critical path analysis.
  • Expert knowledge of construction health & safety legislation and regulations, with a track record of promoting safe delivery.
