On behalf of the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), we are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner - Inside IR35 for a 3 month contract based Hybrid working (2 days per week in London office and remaining WFH)

Please note:
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Senior Finance Business Partner would be:
- Management of the Business Partnering team and the activity of this team to ensue provision of an effective Business Partnering service to budget holders.
- Ensuring all areas are provided with strategic, sound and challenging advice on their plans, using knowledge and data-led insight to ensure value for money outcomes are delivered with a sound long term strategy.
- Providing data-led and insight driven business partnering, working with the business to improve its understanding of its cost drivers to drive effective use of resources and help the different areas to realise any efficiencies from their budgets.
- Taking the lead on implementing the Government Finance Function’s standards for Excellence in Finance Business Partnering in your area, working across the function to raise the quality of services in all parts of finance, developing capability and continually developing knowledge based on best practice.
- Support the Head of Finance with the annual budget setting exercise and related HM Treasury reporting requirements.
- Be a central part of the investment decision making process, providing both critical challenge and detailed analytical support in line with Managing Public Money principles.
- Provide support and advice to budget holders to ensure that they manage their resources effectively, producing accurate and timely ad-hoc financial and management information, as required.
- Directly support a selection of key senior budget holders with their monthly expenditure planning and reporting.
- Provide costing support and advice on key projects and ensure that full case costs are captured and robust submissions can be made into court where cost orders are sought.
- Contributing to office-wide initiatives such as inputting into policy development and other work that supports the continuous development of the SFO.
Essential:
- Strong people management skills with a demonstrable ability to motivate and manage a team to deliver
- Demonstrable evidence of having supported the business in improving its financial management and achieving value for money.
- Proficient in simplifying and presenting complex information, by use of Excel models, to aid understanding and enable decision making.
- Experience of working as part of a small multi functional finance team, supporting fellow team members to achieve joint objectives
- Experience of leading a proactive business partnering service supporting a range of customers
- Experience of business case development and assessment including benefits measurement and realisation
- Fully qualified CCAB (or CIMA) accountant or similar
