On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Senior Business Analyst for a 12 month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield
DWP is delivering a series of fast-paced improvements to digital services across Working Age operations. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work in a multi-disciplinary Agile team to understand user needs, shape requirements and support the delivery of new features and process improvements. You will also play a key role in coaching other BAs and contributing to the wider BA community.
As a Senior Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Use Agile ways of working within the multi-disciplinary team and support other BAs in developing their Agile practice.
- Run workshops, interviews and focus groups to understand business problems and user needs.
- Translate problems and needs into clear requirements using epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across business and technical teams, resolving issues and risks as they arise.
- Document requirements clearly using “as a..., I can..., so that...” and define acceptance criteria using “GIVEN, WHEN, THEN”, following INVEST principles.
- Define test scenarios for each sprint and work with testers and developers to identify and resolve defects.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Understand and map business processes, using best practice techniques to reach agreement on existing and future states.
- Contribute to the BA community in Working Age services by sharing best practice and supporting the development of other BAs.
You’ll have relevant experience in:
- Business analysis tools and techniques in an Agile environment.
- Requirements gathering/ data analysis/ process analysis/ ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ process mapping/ documentation and user stories.
- Using Jira, Miro and Confluence.
- Identifying service and process improvement opportunities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement.
- Public sector experience
