AMS PSR

On behalf of IBCA, we are looking for a Financial Accountant (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract based REMOTELY with an expectation to travel as and when required to London or Newcastle.

As a Financial Accountant, your main responsibilities will be:

• Play a key role in producing the Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) and supporting the audit process.
• Help define accounting policies and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
• Monitor key balances for the compensation scheme and provide expert technical accounting advice.
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies while ensuring compliance with government guidance, including Managing Public Money.
• Collaborate on Whole of Government Accounts submissions and contribute to capital treatment decisions.

Essential:

• Experience working on public sector accounts and audits (bonus if in a new Arm’s Length Body).
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and ideally the Government Financial Reporting Manual.
• Hands-on experience with month-end processes like accruals, journals, ledger reviews, and reconciliations.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.
• Highly organized with proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• A team player who can also work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
• Advanced Excel skills to support analysis and reporting.
• You will be a fully/part or qualified by experience accountant
