AMS PSR

On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager for a 12 month contract (Inside IR35) based Hybrid in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester or Sheffield.

About the role:

Join the Department for Work and Pensions as a Senior Product Manager, shaping the future of Working Age Services. You’ll lead product strategy and roadmap evolution across five technical teams, ensuring services align with organisational goals and deliver real impact for millions of citizens.

As a Senior Product Manager your main responsibilities will be to:

• Own and evolve product roadmaps for multiple teams in a highly technical environment.
• Apply Agile principles and practices to deliver products efficiently and transparently.
• Collaborate with Delivery Leads and engineering teams to drive product vision and priorities.
• Work within DevOps and cloud-heavy environments, influencing technical decisions and aligning them to business outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with technical stakeholders and translate complex concepts into actionable plans.
• Ensure alignment with organisational strategy and GOV.UK service standards.

Essential:

• Proven experience managing products at scale with technical teams.
• Strong background in Agile delivery and DevOps/cloud environments (AWS experience highly beneficial).
• Ability to develop and implement product strategies and roadmaps across multiple teams.
• Comfortable working with technical language and concepts (observability pipelines, containerisation, databases).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable:

• Experience in public sector or GOV.UK service standards.
• Experience with AWS and modern containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), with an understanding of best practices.
