What it’s like to work in the Corporate Delivery Directorate
The Corporate Delivery directorate leads the organisation’s strategic relationships with our clients, onboarding and offboarding, the development of future services, as well as providing enterprise architecture, programme & project management, business change, and business analysis capability.
We work a mixture of full and part-time hours across a 37hr week with varying working patterns. We have a hybrid working model which offers flexibility; this role will require you to be available to attend the office as needed.
What it’s like to work in the Business Change Team
We are a small friendly team that share a passion for business change. Our working environment is inclusive and supportive, which means that whilst we each have separate initiatives that we are working on, we are always there for each other to lend a hand or bounce ideas on approaches that we are looking to utilise. Our approach to leadership in our team is consultative, you won’t be micromanaged here, you will be enabled to take responsibility for delivery, whilst being able to draw upon the knowledge and experience that exist within the senior leadership. We always welcome new ideas that can improve our practices.
Overview of the Role
We are looking to recruit 3 Business Change professionals on a fixed-term basis to support the strategic onboarding of some important Clients. Following a tried and tested formula you will form part of the core project team, leading the delivery of the ‘business change’ workstream. Whilst a tried and tested formula, there is always opportunity for continuous improvement, and we always encourage innovative thinking and creative ways of working. All onboardings are inflight, so you will have to really incite your flexible mindset and get up to speed at pace. Onboardings, by nature, carry a degree of ambiguity as some requirements are only confirmed mid-flight, so again you will have to ‘flex’ your flexible mindset and be happy to live with some uncertainty, often resulting in replanning and/or tight deliverables. You, will lead the planning and execution of the business change plan, ensuring our operational teams are fully engaged, prepared and equipped for day 1. Equally, you will work with the client to ensure they know everything they need to know about our services and systems, implanting our ways of working, driving and optimising user adoption. In essence, we want both our workforce and our client’s workforce to have a positive onboarding experience.
This is a varied and challenging role which will require you to be able to build trusted relationships with colleagues and clients, deliver at pace whilst living with some unknowns, communicate and collaborate effectively and have real attention to detail. This role is vital to our organisation as we move through a sustained period of major change.
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Lead the delivery of the Business Change Workstream for a Strategic Onboarding.
Be a key member of the Strategic Onboarding Project Team, representing Business Change.
Direct and facilitate other internal team activities falling under the Business Change Workstream.
Develop and maintain all Strategic Onboarding Business Change Artefacts, eg: Change Strategy, Communications & Engagement Strategy, etc.
Conduct key change deliverables such as a ‘Change Impact Assessment’ (CIA), Change Readiness Assessment, etc.
Taken from the CIA, produce and sequence key messages for the client to communicate to their workforce, helping them to share and deliver their change management plan, driving user adoption and new ways of working. Note: we currently do not provide business change services to our clients.
Manage, with support from the PMO team, all Business Change activities within JIRA.
Build and develop professional working relationships with key stakeholders to share and utilise information, to help support the delivery of the onboarding.
Work with our operational teams to ensure they have and know everything they need to be able to provide our recognised first-class service from day 1. This will include supporting them to develop their cutover plan, as well as the creation and delivery of a number of internal staff briefings, all ensuring they have a positive change journey, feel fully informed, equipped and confident to serve our new client.
Support the delivery of hyper-care, including issue resolution, to ensure a smooth transition into BAU.
Track and report effectiveness of change methodology and user adoption.
To do this role well you will have the following experience:
Essential
- Agile and responsive to unexpected challenges and shifts in change scope.
- Good influencing skills with the ability to work collaboratively, flexibly, and to deliver through others.
- Excellent communication abilities, combined with effective influencing, and representational skills.
