Risk Analyst
Insurance
Location: London – onsite
Salary: £35 000+ Dependent on experience
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Risk, this role offers an exciting opportunity for an aspiring risk professional to join a niche insurance’s Risk team. As a Risk Analyst, you will support the implementation of the Risk Management Framework and will have the opportunity to help shape the development of insurance risk management activities.
Role responsibilities:
- To maintain business risk registers and control library.
- To support the implementation, maintenance and improvement of our risk management software. To act as first point of contact for the business for general queries about the risk management system.
- To support the development of our data analytics capability, providing valuable insights to inform risk management decisions.
- To support the production of the quarterly risk report including being responsible for producing the underlying MI
- To support the implementation of our risk events process including ensuring events are being appropriately recorded, assessed and resolved in conjunction with relevant business owners.
- To collaborate with the business to ensure timely completion of actions and adherence to deadlines.
- To support the Risk Manager with the implementation of our second line assurance framework through carrying out thematic reviews and control assurance
- To contribute towards the identification, analysis and reporting of emerging risks.
What we are looking for in you:
We are looking for someone who is keen to pursue a career in risk management, possesses strong communication skills, exhibits critical thinking, and who can work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of the UK insurance regulatory regime, the UK insurance industry and risk management is desirable but not essential.
Experience & Skills Required
- Experience with the MS Office package
- Analytical; problem solving capabilities with attention to detail

- Communicates clearly; effectively interacts with others
- Demonstrable intellect through academic examinations, on the job training and/or professional qualifications
Desirable
- Prior use of a risk management system
- Analytical and data management skills
- Understanding of the UK insurance regulatory landscape
- Understanding of risk management framework and processes
- Prior experience in working in second line control functions: risk management and/or compliance
