Description & Requirements


On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Governance Development Lead (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract which is a hybrid role so requires 1 day a week in the Newcastle office


This Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA) independent review was commissioned by the Cabinet Office (CO) and was conducted by Sir Tyrone Urch and Hazel Hobbs as core Review Team (RT) members and supported by government digital/data experts.


As a Governance Development Lead, your main responsibilities will be:


  • To provide support in the development of IBCA's Board including delivering and updated internal governance framework and overseeing board delivery
  • Direct support to the board in terms of minute taking, room booking and commissioning and sending of papers for the board
  • Align governance practices with organizational growth and strategic priorities.
  • Work with a wide team of stakeholders at all levels
  • Remuneration committee and audit duties
  • Maintain accurate records of governance activities, including declarations of interest and registers.


Essential Skills


  • Extensive experience in a governance role within central government
  • Stakeholder engagement at all levels including governance boards
  • Experience in supporting governance teams which includes secretariat duties
  • Internal governance experience and skillset
  • Strong self starter with a proactive approach to all duties
