Description & Requirements

On behalf of Homes England we are looking for an Enterprise Architect (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Remote working with occasional travel to either London, Birmingham or Newcastle.

The Architecture team is part of the Digital directorate at Homes England. The team supports the business in designing, delivering and iterating the digital, data and technology services, which are core to providing modern business services.


As an Enterprise Architect you will be expected to work at a high level across all domains, business, data, application and technology. The architecture service supports the organisation to design, develop and run modern business services.


Working with business and technology peers across Homes England and wider Government you will help define and architect business solutions, as well as advising on technology choices that support the organisation and align to its strategic objectives.


As an Enterprise Architect your main responsibilities will be to:


  • Identify and evaluate priorities for change, taking a strategic view across all architectural domains, portfolios and programmes.
  • Lead and influence the delivery of cross-cutting capabilities that support Homes England strategic objectives.
  • Develop and drive the enterprise architecture vision, strategy and roadmaps from a business, technology and data perspective, including ‘as is’, ‘to be’ and transitional states.
  • Consult and support collaboration across the business.
  • Understand the organisation’s ecosystem and its interdependencies, including reference architectures.
  • Guide the organisation to make appropriate business, technology and data decisions by recommending reuse, sustainability and scalability, to achieve value for money and reduce risk.
  • Develop, maintain and drive architectural principles, policies and standards.
  • Collaborate and consult with stakeholders to assure business, technology and data decisions are aligned with enterprise architecture strategy.



Essential:


  • Demonstratable Enterprise Architecture experience.
  • Knowledge of architecture methodologies and frameworks and experience of their application e.g. TOGAF
  • Ability to confidently make risk-based decisions and sound judgements.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex concepts to a broad range of stakeholders, to support sound decision making.
  • Significant experience of organisational design practices, e.g. business capability modelling, business strategy development.
  • Experience of modern IT paradigms including event-based architecture design, containerisation, microservices and loose coupling.
