Description & Requirements

On behalf of the Bank of England, we are looking for a Finance Business Partner/Project Accountant (Inside IR35) for a 6 months (potential extension) contract based in London 2-3 days per week.

This in the Monetary Policy Transformation team working in a Hybrid position as a Finance Business Partner combined wit a Project Accounting role


As a Finance Business Partner/Project Accountant, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Lead financial management of the MPT forecast and budget, partnering with Transformation teams, MA COO, and People team.
  • Provide financial control and insight for project costs, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation, supporting decision-making through clear communication and analysis.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support Monetary Policy Transformation Committee decisions.
  • Prepare and present monthly performance reports, forecasts, budgets, and financial business cases with robust assumptions.
  • Review investment cases and support strategic financial tasks, including R&D tax claims and process improvements.



Essential:


  • Qualified finance professional with extensive experience across Business Planning, Financial Control, and Finance Business Partnering, including change project finance and cost management.
  • Skilled in financial modelling, investment appraisal, workforce forecasting, and supporting centralised functions like technology and property services.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence and communicate financial insights clearly to non-financial audiences across all levels.
  • Proven ability to deliver strategic financial analysis, optimise processes, and lead financial system enhancements in fast-paced, public sector environments.#
  • Active SC Clearance

  • Strong excel skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to bring to life issues for senior management and turn financial data into key commercial messages with clear decision requirements across a variety of presentation formats
