On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a IT Application Manager (Inside IR35) for a 18 Months contract based Hybrid/ in Aldermaston.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. As an IT Application Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Deliver resilient systems on corporate IT networks that meets the business requirements and SLAs/OLAs.
- License management supporting supply chain management and software licensing teams.
- Maintain regular liaison with vendors and suppliers to ensure a strategic partnership • Work collaboratively with BRM and the business to surface and shape system requirements.
- Maintain robust relationship with business stakeholders to ensure regular two way communication between Information Services and senior business users.
- Maintain system roadmap with Senior Application Services Manager and Head of Enterprise apps
- Maintain the focus on key strategic deliverables within IS Enterprise Applications.
- Build teams and set direction.
- Lead others by example to commit to our corporate values and exhibit good behaviours.
- Actively champion Diversity and Inclusion through actions and behaviour.
- Identify talent and create opportunities to develop others, including through effective delegation.
- Contribute to budget planning
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security and Quality and be a great team player.
Essential:
- Proficient in managing product backlogs with an inclusive approach, ensuring prioritization reflects diverse stakeholder perspectives and equitable value delivery.
- Expertise in implementing system and application changes adhering to processes, policies, and procedures, with a focus on accessibility, equity, and meeting varied user requirements.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, fostering inclusive collaboration and ensuring systems meet wide-ranging expectations.
- In-depth knowledge as a system specialist, SME, or super user, with the ability to guide diverse users and support accessibility-focused enhancements.
- Capability to escalate and address incidents, risks, and problems transparently, considering the varied impacts on demographic groups and focusing on collaborative solutions.
- Effective task management skills to lead teams equitably, promote diverse contributions, and nurture a sense of belonging among team members.
