On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Marine Electrician Inside IR35 for a 6 month contract based Gosport.

As a Marine Electrician, your main responsibilities will be:

Role:
The Marine Electrician is directed by the Fleet Maintenance Manager in the primary role to:
- Operate as part of the maintenance and engineering team who provide technical maintenance and repair of the MOD training yachts
- Repair and maintenance of all yacht electrical systems. 12/24V
- Care and maintenance of 12/24V batteries
- Assure the quality of Electrical work
- To ensure that the routine maintenance of electrical systems as listed in the JSASTC Maintenance Schedule is carried out.
- Person specification
- The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience in working in the maritime environment with Electrical systems and on commercial sailing or motorboats.
- Whilst a formal qualification (ie City & Guilds Level 3 Or NVQ Level 3 in Marine Engineering and Electrics or Electrical apprenticeship or similar qualifications) suitable applications should be able to show evidence of:
- Working with power tools and WKSP static machinery
- Working with Electrical diagnostic tools
- Knowledge and good practice of health and safety
- Knowledge of working with 12/24V/230V electrical systems
- Knowledge of Working with heating systems
- Knowledge of working with Electrical PAT Testing
