Description & Requirements


On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Senior Digital Delivery Manager for a 1months Inside IR35  contract based Hybrid with 3 days a week in either London/ Leeds / Newcastle / Manchester/ Sheffield . 


The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:


  • Help people to move into work and support those already in work to progress, with the aim of increasing overall workforce participation

  • Provide effective, efficient, and innovative services to the millions of claimants who rely on us every day, including the most vulnerable in society
  • Improve experience of our services while maximising value for money for the taxpayer.


As a Senior Digital Delivery Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Leading all integration delivery activities for a project or series of work packages, ensuring appropriate input from a range of internal stakeholders and external supplier organisations.
  • Using broad experience and technical expertise to build your project team’s technical capability on a day to day basis;
  • Driving and managing successful delivery outcomes across all stages of the development lifecycle of the project, making sure that products at all stages are fit for purpose, fully tested and performant;
  • Leading activities to specify, assess, select and deliver technology services from external vendors via a structured process;
  • Shaping solutions in a way that balances short term delivery for the programme with flexible, scalable and reusable across other DWP areas in the future;
  • Oversight, scheduling and management of accessibility audits conducted by 3rd parties
Working across teams to manage delivery of reasonable adjustments features (barriers portfolio and SRA teams)
  • Managing delivery of UC letter accessibility remediation (through existing theme teams and DWP Notifications)
  • Managing delivery of off build tools remediation
  • Managing delivery of Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) and Video Relay Services (VRS)


Essential:

  • Have demonstrable experience of delivering technology products and integration technology services, via appropriate project management methodologies and using both internal teams and services from external supplier organisations.
  • Have a proven track record of leading large teams and working successfully with a range of challenging stakeholders.
  • Have experience in working in a multi-team, portfolio delivery structure.
  • Have experience of working with business users to ensure that technology products and services are created with user needs at the forefront of all development activity.
  • Have the ability to work closely with a Product Owners to define the technology roadmap for any given service and translate this into user stories / requirements.
  • Have experience of procurement, commercial management and supplier management in DWP or another large scale organisation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to balance short and longer term solution demands, planning pragmatically with suitable risk management.
  • Be able to use the best of both Agile and Waterfall methods to deliver successful outcomes quickly.


Desirable:

  • Understand and manage financial forecasts and actuals for Technology service provision.
  • Have experience of working with security related stakeholders and expert teams to enable secure service provision, both for development and production environments.
