On behalf of NHS Blood & Transplant, we are looking for a Strategy & Performance Manager (Inside IR35) for a 4 month contract contract based hybrid working (London or Birmingham as and when required).


Job Purpose:


Following the introduction of a new Communications & Engagement Directorate which has seen roles moved from Donor Experience (DX) to the new directorate, there is a requirement for additional resource within DX to lead the Community Engagement team and focus on the exploration and development of DX strategy.


As a Strategy & Performance Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:


  • Review and implement strategic projects, including the One Donor Programme, and the drive to become more donor led.
  • Drive the development of the Donor Experience Strategy, implementing where appropriate.
  • Working collaboratively with Head of Programmes and Portfolio ensure that DX response and named activities are fit for purpose to deliver the organisation and DX priorities.
  • Oversee and coordinate ongoing strategic activities to enable donor base growth and diversification.
  • Caretake (line manage) and provide leadership to the Community Engagement division working collaboratively with the Head of Community Engagement. Community Engagement is a large time based across England and works directly with community stakeholders and partners to promote donation.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Community Engagement, continue to develop the Community Grants Programme, ensuring they operate and deliver effectively and that performance is monitored and shared to deliver continuous improvements.
  • Work across DX, Comms and Engagement and other directorates to ensure there is effective collaboration and delivery.
  • The successful applicant will be expected to work, act and lead as part of the Door Experience SMT (senior team).

  • Be highly articulate and credible, consistently influencing and delivering inspiring, engaging, and meaningful information regarding future direction.
  • Work collaboratively with your senior team collectively and individually, accepting and owning accountability for the decisions made and offering assistance where required, even where this falls outside of your remit.
  • Proactively create, leading by example, a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment.
  • Foster strong professional relationships with your peers, respecting their knowledge and viewpoints whilst critically analysing outcomes to ensure that the service to donors is paramount in decision making.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and influence a robust culture of delivery.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a matrix style to deliver results.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering strategy.
  • Lead and develop our people in line with NHSBT core values.
  • Expert skills in working collaboratively within a senior team and cross functional teams where there a range of conflicting priorities and objectives.
