On behalf of UK Research and Innovation we are looking for an Interaction Designer for a 7 Month, Inside IR35, Hybrid contract with team visits to Bristol

As an interaction designer you will plan, design and participate in research activities with users that helps the teams gain a deep understanding of the people using UKRI services.    In this case for the REF29 systems.

You will:

•    Design services which promote quality and best practice as well as ongoing improvements. 

•    Drives the user experience process and its implementation across the digital service 

•    Generate the feedback and insight to build a clear picture of the service users and deliver solutions that they need.

•    Support product owners by generating new and useful user insights and translating it into features and actions that will allow them to iteratively improve their service for users.

•    Oversee the work of or collaborate with team members to align UX activities with wider plans to inform service proposition.

•    Ensure designs are intuitive, compliant and accessible.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Agile working:

•    identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes. 

•    help the team to decide the best approach.

•    manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and adhere to agreed minimum viable product (MVP), priorities and scope.

•    listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them.

•    support or host difficult discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders.

Digital perspective:

•    apply a digital understanding to work. Identify and implement solutions for assisted digital users.

Evidence and context-based design.

•    design systems for use across multiple services and identify the simplest of a variety of approaches.

Prototyping:

•    Use a variety of prototyping methods.

•    Share best practice and coach others. You can look at strategic service design end to end.

•    Prototyping in code. You can create and validate a dynamic prototype.

Strategic thinking:

•    Define strategies and policies, providing guidance to others on working in the strategic context.

•    Evaluate current strategies to ensure business requirements are being met and exceeded where possible.

User focus:

•    Give direction on which tools or methods to use.

•    Demonstrate experience in meeting the needs of users across a variety of channels. Bring insight and expertise in how user needs have changed over time to ensure they’re met by the business.

•    Apply strategic thinking to provide the best service for the end user.

Working within constraints:

•    Identify, communicate and work within constraints.

•    Challenge the validity of constraints.

•    Ensure standards are being met.
