Description & Requirements

On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for Senior Communications Manager (Inside IR35) for a 4 month contract on a hybrid basis in York or London (3-4 days per week, remainder remote/WFH)

As a Senior Communications Manager your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Developing and implementing the internal and wider industry communications and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Working with partners across industry to develop the key messages, collateral and communications materials associated with the migration to digital signalling
  • Supporting engagement work with internal and industry stakeholders as required, working with the wider team
  • Developing and reviewing reports, presentations and plans for review as required
  • Maintaining the dedicated areas of the corporate website and responding to queries from industry partners
  • Provide guidance on all external communications activity undertaken by key personnel including Directors, Project Managers and sponsors, delivering consistency with the approved communications strategy and in accordance with Network Rail’s corporate policies.
  • Assist with delivery of Network Rail’s corporate internal communications programme and act as a conduit for material/information for corporate communications channels.
  • Check that all branding used on the project and activity complies with Network Rail’s corporate policy on branding, visual identity and image.


Essential

  • Substantial experience in corporate communications
  • High standards of written and spoken communication
  • The ability to work effectively with senior managers
  • Ability to team lead / delegate where necessary but primarily work on own initiative
  • The ability to be proactive
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Proven strategic communications experience
  • Evidence of internal and external communications experience
  • Ability to develop and maintain a stakeholder contact and communications
  • Rail experience (desirable)
