On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for X3 Assistant Project Managers (Inside IR35) for a contract until the end of September 2026. This is a hybrid working role (three days per week office based - York).

Job Purpose:
Responsible for the safe design and development of Infrastructure railway enhancement projects throughout the early project lifecycle from inception to creation of a robust single option for delivery to comply with relevant legislation, Group and company standards and to meet client requirements including programme, cost and quality and Network Rail business plan commitments.
As an Assistant Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Registers, running meetings, strategic forums, making sure everyone attends and completing actions
- Ensuring the smooth running of the programme
- Liaise with other programme teams
- Speaking with other project managers in the other programmes
- Lots of looking after register and documents control involved
Essential:
- Self-motivated, experience in major programmes
- Experience outside of development: implementation of projects
- Understanding of railway
- Experience and development and implementation in major programmes
Desirable:
- Membership of the Association for Project Management (APM) or relevant professional qualification
- Demonstrable experience of managing within a complex matrix environment
- Knowledge and understanding of Network Rail investment regulations
- Budget experience/accountability
