On behalf of the CPS, we are looking for a Finance Systems Analyst (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract based remotely but does Include an element of hybrid, 1 day every 2 weeks in the York office

You will be a key member of the Finance Systems Team helping develop and improve the systems and processes that assist in the advancement of finance capability and compliance within CPS.
The candidate should have an understanding of accounting principles and how they are modelled within an ERP system, ideally within an Oracle environment with integration between different systems and processes.
As a Finance Systems Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:
- Identifies and utilises business experience and skills to assess and advise on the practicability of alternatives, marrying up technical limitations with operational realities.
- Identifies the strategic implications of future business changes, Applies appropriate modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards in an intelligent and effective way.
- Able to help the team to manage and visualise outcomes, priorities work and work to agreed minimum viable product and scope.
- Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine business opportunities and specify effective business processes, Specifies implementation through improvements in information systems, data management, practices and organisation.
- Identify the potential benefit to CPS Finance and the wider organisation of specific technologies, products, methods and techniques. Investigates these in detail, recognising further avenues for research.
- Provides advice and guidance to senior management (up to and including HQ Directors) and the Finance governance process, both verbally and in writing, making complex issues understandable and managing expectations with respect to business change and project scope.
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience as a systems analyst within finance teams and have a finance understanding within central government
- Experience with oracle enterprise systems
- Stakeholder engagement at all levels including data teams
- Experience within financial data analysis
- Power BI, Excel skillset and experience
- Strong self starter with a proactive flexible approach to all duties
Desirable Skills
- Experience leading a team would be beneficial
- Experience in identifying and documenting requirements and prioritising these with business input.
