AMS PSR

On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Business Analyst (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based Manchester, Leeds, Blackpool or Newcastle (3 days per week on site).

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:

• Help people to move into work and support those already in work to progress, with the aim of increasing overall workforce participation
• Help people to plan and save for later life, while providing a safety net for those who need it now
• Provide effective, efficient, and innovative services to the millions of claimants who rely on us every day, including the most vulnerable in society
• Improve experience of our services while maximising value for money for the taxpayer.

As a Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:

• Working closely with stakeholders and business areas to understand objectives, identify business problems and define clear outcomes before solutions are explored.
• Capturing, analysing and documenting business and user requirements using appropriate techniques such as workshops, interviews, process mapping and stakeholder engagement sessions.
• Translating user needs into structured, delivery-ready requirements including user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Acting as a key interface between stakeholders and delivery teams, supporting discussions around solution options and ensuring a shared understanding of requirements throughout delivery.
• Managing requirements throughout the project lifecycle, including maintaining traceability, assessing impacts of change requests and supporting prioritisation activities.
• Supporting testing and quality assurance activities, including creation or validation of test scenarios, supporting user acceptance testing and confirming delivered solutions meet agreed requirements and quality standards.

Essential:

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst
• Some experience with portfolio management
• Excellent stakeholder management
