Senior Education Officer

1 X Permanent: Full time 36 hours per week

Salary: £40,031 – £42,033 per annum.

London-based employees receive an additional £3,217 London weighting. 
 A £312 tax-free working from home allowance is also payable annually.

Location: London (Hybrid – min. 2 days in office) or Remote (UK)

About the role

As a Senior Education Officer within our Voter Education Team, you’ll play a vital role in helping people across the UK understand and participate in democracy. This role will focus on delivering impactful education projects that increase voter knowledge and confidence to participate in elections, particularly among young people.

You’ll work with stakeholders in the education and youth sectors and support the delivery of resources that encourage democratic participation. This role will support the planning and delivery of education projects across the UK, working closely with colleagues in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be:

  • Designing and delivering projects that improve voter understanding and engagement in youth and community settings
  • Designing and managing co-created resources with partners, including lesson plans, online content, videos and training materials.
  • Managing meaningful partnerships across the youth, education and community sectors
  • Developing training to front-line staff who engage with voters, for example, teachers and youth practitioners

  • Evaluating the impact and reach of education activities using our outcomes framework

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with a passion for civic education, strong project delivery experience and excellent communication skills

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience in managing education projects and creating accessible content
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly within education and community sectors
  • Understanding of educational approaches, the curriculum across the UK and best practice in participation
  • We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with extensive classroom and formal teaching experience. a teaching qualification (such as PGCE) is desirable or equivalent experience
