For these roles, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Conduct rigorous analysis of suppliers and supply chains, engaging with teams across the Department to accurately assess, monitor and mitigate risk from supply chain issues. Coordinate stakeholder groups across the Department, wider government, and industry. Advise senior officials and Ministers as appropriate.
- Provide advice and support in relation to commercial mitigation and resolution planning for supply chain issues.
- Champion a continuous improvement culture towards internal processes for supply chain management, embracing digital enablement and policy improvements.
- Provide support to Supply Chain Resilience Working and Steering Groups seeking to gather timely intelligence on resilience and risk issues relating to critical supply chains.
- Be a regular contributor to cross-departmental products and meetings, including the Supply Chain Resilience Dashboard issued to senior leads, and the Supply Chain Resilience Working Group.
- Support the team leader in providing the interface on supply chain resilience issues, including sector reporting and working with another departments Supply Chains Unit.
Essential:
- High level of aptitude for analysing, handling and presenting data and intel for the purposes of producing evidence for policy advice and an aptitude to join the dots to see the bigger picture.
- Strong research skills. Be inquisitive and probing in our approach to intelligence and data.
- Ability to look for continuous improvements and efficiencies. As we move to improve the service we offer, candidates will look to change and improve to provide a quality service for the Department.
- Strong secretariat skills. Proven track record of briefing Senior Officials and Ministers.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the capability and experience to overcome challenges in order to deliver high quality business outcomes and deliver change.
- Collaborative team-working skills and the ability to build networks across teams and divisions within the Department and externally.
