As a Nuclear Safety Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
- Lead a team in producing and delivering safety documentation through the governance process.
- Take ownership of safety documentation as directed by senior management
- Ensure company safety strategies, policies, and management system requirements are communicated and understood.
- Contribute to assessing safety assessments and Licence Condition compliance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist in verifying safety documentation and mentor others in safety assessment techniques.
- Maintain high standards in security, environment, safety, and health, and deputize for the Group Leader, Nuclear Safety when needed.
Essential:
- Ability to perform detailed risk assessments and safety analyses on nuclear decommissioning projects
- In-depth understanding of nuclear safety principles, regulations, and industry standards specific to decommissioning
- Expertise in designing and implementing safety procedures for decommissioning operation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare safety documentation and reports, and liaise with regulatory bodies
- Proficiency in managing complex decommissioning projects, ensuring safety and compliance throughout the process
