AMS PSR

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Commercial Manager - (Inside IR35) for a 9-month contract working on a remote basis with occasional travel

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for assessing the existing commercial landscape, evaluating how current arrangements affect programme delivery, and designing and implementing approaches that ensure the department achieves the right outcomes. They will act as the primary point of contact between the department and incumbent suppliers, leading on supplier integration, relationship management, and the commercial and cost implications of ongoing service delivery.

As a Commercial Manager - (Inside IR35), your main responsibilities will be:

• Reviewing contractual levers and variations, as well as working closely with contract managers and finance leads.
• Manage and interpret existing commercial models and provide assurance on commercial risk and performance across the estate.
• Manage a range of business as usual and ad hoc commercial activities, including end to end delivery of commissions such as indexation exercises and grant competitions

Essential:

• CTC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance
• Public Sector experience
• Commercial / Contract Management experience
• Stakeholder engagement / Relationship Management experience

Desirable:

• CIPS
• Experience of using Jaggaer
• Experience of dealing with Notices of Change
• Microsoft Office experience
