On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Senior Network Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 9 Month contract based REMOTELY.
Join a dynamic team supporting a nationwide network rollout project, focusing on LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure. This role requires hands-on expertise in Cisco Catalyst switches, Juniper Mist Wi-Fi access points, and network management systems. As a remote network specialist, you will ensure the seamless deployment and troubleshooting of network components while fostering effective communication across diverse teams
As a Senior Network Engineer your main responsibilities will be:
- Network Rollout Support: Act as the remote network specialist for a nationwide network rollout, focusing on LAN and Wi-Fi components.
- Cisco Catalyst Configuration: Configure and stage Cisco Catalyst 9200/9300 switches using tools like Cisco Catalyst Centre.
- Juniper Mist Configuration: Configure and stage Juniper Mist wifi access points via the Mist dashboard.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to onsite engineers and collaborate with various technical and non-technical project teams.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed installation and configuration documentation.
- Communication: Facilitate effective communication across multiple teams, including project management and the wider department, primarily through remote collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams.
Essential:
- SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
- Proven experience in network rollouts as an implementation engineer or project engineer.
- Cisco LAN Switching: Extensive knowledge of Cisco LAN switching technologies, especially Cisco Catalyst 9200/9300 series.
- Wi-Fi Deployments: Solid understanding and hands-on experience with cloud-managed Wi-Fi deployments.
- Experience with Juniper Mist is highly preferred.
- Network Services: Proficient in network services such as DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, SNMP, and Netconf.
- Strong expertise in physical network infrastructure, including switches, cabling, fibre optics and transceivers.
- Solid understanding of on-premises network environments and data center power systems.
- Network Management Systems: Experience with network management tools, particularly Cisco Catalyst Centre and Cisco DNA Center (DNAC).
- Troubleshooting: Strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in LAN, Wi-Fi, and WAN environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders in a remote setting.
