AMS PSR

On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Solution Architect for an 8 Month Contract (Inside IR35) based Hybrid in Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Blackpool or Newcastle.

As a Solution Architect, you will work with engineering teams to design, develop, deliver, and maintain IT products and services. Leveraging your deep technical knowledge and experience you will support and grow the technical architecture community, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services. You will blend technical knowledge, architecture, and development skills, sharing your expertise across various technical domains while having in-depth experience in at least one specialisation.

As a Solution Architect you will:

• Lead on ensuring high quality of technical design, and adherence to enterprise architecture principles and roadmaps.
• Engage with Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects, Lead Solution Architects and engineering teams to implement the solutions according to agreed and approved architecture designs.
• Implement architecture patterns creating reference architectures as real-world working examples of successful architecture design.
• Make technology choices for products in conjunction with the enterprise architecture blueprint, contributing to the update of technology policies where appropriate.
• Build relationships and work collaboratively with Digital professions in agile delivery teams to create VFM solution designs that meet user needs.
• Lead, deliver and support technical design of a product or part of a shared platform to meet user needs and business objectives.

Essential:

• Proven ability to work across diverse technologies, operating as a generalist in the tech space at a high level.
• Knowledge and experience in systems integration and working with interfaces.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to build lasting relationships with stakeholders.
• Experience governing and reviewing 3rd party technical infrastructure upgrades and bespoke application enhancement documentation.
• Previous experience presenting technical solutions for Architecture Governance at Design Authorities. 
• Ability to produce detailed Architecture design artifacts like Solution Overview documents.
• Broad skill set and understanding of Infrastructure components.
• Excellent project and resource management skills.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and manage risks effectively.

Desirable:

• Actian Experience/Knowledge: Familiarity with Actian products such as Ingres and OpenROAD is highly desirable but not essential.
• Accessibility Knowledge: Awareness of WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards and accessibility.
• Public sector experience.
