AMS PSR

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Digital Product Manager (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract based Hybrid, 1-2 days per week in any MoJ office.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.

You will join the metrics squad in the Dashboards & Dissemination service area as we move into an exciting new phase of work. We undertook a discovery exploring problems with metric inconsistency across the department. This highlighted a valuable opportunity to provide a single place for people to create and find metrics. We also recognised a secondary opportunity to improve integration between our Analytical Platform and Power BI, which will be critical to broadening access to data and driving transformation across the organisation. We recently completed a proof of concept with a product called Cube. Cube is an example of a semantic layer that we think can help us deliver the opportunities we identified. Our proof of concept was successful. We are now seeking to deploy Cube in production within our Analytical Platform, undertake further testing and begin to roll it out with selected users across the department.

We are seeking an experienced product manager to lead this next phase of work.

You will be responsible for: 

·      Setting direction for the team and developing a plan for testing, rollout and adoption of Cube

·      Leading communication and selling the value of our work

·      Managing engagement with a wide range of users, partners and stakeholders across the whole department

·      Ensuring that we capitalise on further opportunities for integration to maximise our impact and reach

·      Maintaining our relationship with Cube and other commercial vendors and partners

You will have experience of:

·      Leading teams through the full product lifecycle, in particular from alpha to private beta

·      Driving adoption of new products and services

·      Setting strategic direction for a product and communicating the strategic vision

·      Managing a complex landscape of users, partners and stakeholders

·      Managing commercial relationships

·      Working in line with the Service Standard

·      Creating and delivering against outcomes, plans and roadmaps

It’s a bonus if you have experience of:

·      Working with data or on products involving data
