Description & Requirements

On behalf of FCDO we are looking for a Service Catalogue Analyst (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Hybrid working based in either London, Milton Keynes or Glasgow.

The Service Catalogue Analyst is a role within the IT Service Management department of IDD reporting into the Senior Service Catalogue Manager. The Service Catalogue Analyst supports the maintenance of the IDD Service Catalogue, providing accurate information on the offerings available, as well as their expected lead times.


The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that all IT services provided by the organization are accurately documented, easily accessible, and consistently updated. This involves creating and maintaining a comprehensive catalogue of services, which includes detailed descriptions, service levels, and any associated costs.


The Service Catalogue Analyst works closely with various stakeholders, including IT teams, service owners, and business units, to gather and validate information about the services offered. They also ensure that the service catalogue aligns with the organization's overall IT strategy and business objectives. By doing so, they help improve service delivery, enhance customer satisfaction, and support decision-making processes.


As a Service Catalogue Analyst your main responsibilities will be:


  • Reporting to the Senior Service Catalogue Manager in a timely manner.
  • Supporting the management and prioritisation of requests, via a backlog, to create, update, disable or archive Service Catalogue items.
  • Supporting Tooling teams to build the workflows within the ITSM toolset to meet the needs of catalogue requests.
  • Ensuring the Service Catalogue items accurately reference appropriate CIs and other data points.
  • Maintaining Service Catalogue standards to provide a consistent user experience, suggesting Service Catalogue user experience enhancements as needed.
  • Producing guidance material and templates to promote consistency and quality within the Service Catalogue and improve understanding of the Service Catalogue in the wider organisation.
  • Proactively focusing on continuous improvement of self and service, working with others to improve the user experience, simplify processes and improve efficiency of IT Services to enable the Government’s diplomatic, development and consular work around the world.


Essential:


  • An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.) 
  • Able to show an awareness of different products and services.
  • Able to identify and engage with users or stakeholders to collate user needs evidence.
  • Can understand and define research that fits user needs.
  • Can use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes.
  • Can work independently, share information and assist others with requests for service.


Desirable:


  • ServiceNow experience.
