Description & Requirements
On behalf of The Ministry of Justice we are looking for a Senior Interaction Designer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Hybrid working with travel as and when required to your nearest MOJ office.
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.
This multidisciplinary product team works uniquely on services used by prisoners to manage their day to day lives, to develop their skills, aid their rehabilitation, and to maintain contact with loved ones outside of prison.
This is a challenging and critical space: meeting the needs of vulnerable users at a point of crisis in their lives; serving users, some with limited literacy or English as a second language; and working across a range of touchpoints (in-cell, and communal shared interfaces) to make usable, accessible services.
Essential:
- Experience of creating interactive design prototypes in Figma and in HTML/CSS using the GOV.UK Prototype Kit.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and particularly with other user centred design professions, including content designers and user researchers.
- Experience of facilitating a design process that involves the whole multidisciplinary team; to communicate design decisions; and to work closely with developers on implementation.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
