Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Home Office we are looking for an Oracle Fusion Support and Implementation Analyst (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract. Remote working. 


The Home Office covers three systems Homeland Security, Public Safety and Borders, and Immigration and Citizenship. These systems work collaboratively to deliver our cross-cutting priorities, whilst providing increasingly efficient and secure services for the public. These are difficult areas that can rapidly change in the global environment we work in – this makes us one of the most exciting and stimulating government departments in which to work.


The roles involve contributing to the stabilization, maintenance, and improvement of the Metis Live Service within the Shared Application Services. The primary focus is on ensuring the seamless operation of the service while also preparing for future enhancements. Below is an outline of key responsibilities associated with this position, although it is not an exhaustive list.


As an Oracle Fusion Support and Implementation Analyst your main responsibilities will be:


Workload Planning and Distribution:

  • Develop and implement a structured workload management plan to ensure that tasks are distributed efficiently among team members.
  • Create and maintain a detailed task schedule, outlining deadlines and milestones to ensure timely project completion.


Task Prioritization:

  • Prioritize tasks based on their importance, urgency, and impact on overall project goals.
  • Communicate priority levels clearly to the team, ensuring that everyone understands which tasks should be completed first.
  • Reevaluate and adjust priorities regularly in response to project developments or shifts in business needs.


Progress Monitoring:

  • Track the progress of individual tasks and overall project timelines using project management tools and software.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and status meetings to review progress, address any issues, and keep the team aligned with project goals.
  • Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure productivity and identify areas where adjustments may be necessary.


Issue Resolution:

  • Identify and address any workload-related issues or bottlenecks that may arise, such as resource constraints or conflicting priorities.
  • Facilitate open communication within the team to surface and resolve any concerns about workload distribution or task assignments.
  • Implement solutions to mitigate risks and ensure that project timelines remain on track.


Root Cause Analysis

  • Identify and Diagnose Issues: Thoroughly investigate incidents to determine their underlying causes, using various diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Develop Solutions: Create actionable plans to address and resolve root causes, preventing recurrence of similar issues.
  • Document Findings: Maintain detailed records of analyses and solutions for future reference and to aid in training and knowledge sharing.


Incident Management and Reporting

  • Immediate Response: Act swiftly to manage and resolve incidents, minimizing disruption to the Metis Live Service.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and regular communication with stakeholders regarding the status of incidents and expected resolution times.
  • Post-Incident Review: Conduct post-incident reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the response and identify areas for improvement.


Problem Management

  • Proactive Identification: Identify and address potential problems before they escalate into incidents.
  • Long-Term Solutions: Develop and implement long-term solutions to known issues, reducing the overall number of incidents.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Continuously monitor the performance of implemented solutions to ensure their effectiveness.


Path to Live Activities

  • Deployment Preparation: Plan and execute activities required to move changes from development to live environments.
  • Testing and Validation: Ensure all changes are thoroughly tested and validated before being deployed to live environments to prevent disruptions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with deployment activities to ensure a smooth transition.



Essential:


  • An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.) 


  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise in one or more of the modules below:
    • General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Expenses, Tax, Projects
    • Employee Records, Absence Management, Recruitment, Learning, Performance Management
    • Self Service, HR and Absence
    • Payroll and Time & Labour
    • Redwood interface


  • Technical skills or knowledge in any of the following:
    • Fast Formula
    • OTBI reporting
    • PL/SQL
    • Workflow
    • HDL
    • Visual Builder Studio
    • Oracle BIP
    • XML/BI Publisher
    • FBDI/ADFDI


  • Business Process knowledge around any of the following:
    • Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report, Asset Management, Bank Rec and Treasury, Intercompany Processing, Period Close and reconciliation.
    • Work on L2 and L3 incidents and report progress.
    • Work with third parties to resolve incidents.
    • Update config management and knowledge management databases.
    • Support path to live release management and deployment.
