Description & Requirements

On behalf of the Intellectual Property Office we are looking for a Digital Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract. Remote working with occasional travel to Newport.


The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) is the official UK government body responsible for intellectual property (IP) rights including patents, designs, trademarks and copyright. Our ambition is to be the best IP office, and we intend to achieve this by:

We are responsible for:


  • IPO Policy
  • educating businesses and consumers about IP rights and responsibilities
  • supporting IP enforcement
  • granting UK Patents, trademarks and design rights


We have a small office in the heart of London, but our main office is on the outskirts of Newport, South Wales.

Essential:


  • Proven delivery of business and technical projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches within structured governance.
  • Strong project management knowledge, with hands-on experience in MS Project, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Ability to produce and maintain core artefacts (e.g. PIDs, plans, milestone rackers).
  • Experience working with technical teams, with the ability to understand concepts and manage dependencies.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple demands in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, translating technical detail for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting or managing testing phases (unit, integration, system, UAT) aligned to organisational standards.
