On behalf of The Insolvency Service we are looking for a Data Architect (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract. Hybrid working with travel to London, Manchester or Midlands as and when required.
As a Data Architect your main responsibilities will be:
- Working alongside existing data engineers, technical architects, business SMEs etc.
- Designing conceptual & logical data models for some of the agency’s operations.
- Creating as-is and to-be models.
- Aligning to-be models with existing models for other operations.
- Designing management of data dictionaries.
- Designing data and metadata standards.
Essential:
- An active SC clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
- Professional IT qualifications such as TOGAF or CITP, and relevant Microsoft certifications
- Demonstrable experience in data architect roles in complex organisations:
- Experience in Data Modelling for operational and analytical systems, including conceptual models through to physical schema deployments.
- Experience in Databases (SQL) and an understanding of data analytics tools such as Power BI.
- Experience with Microsoft Ecosystem tools – Azure SQL/Synapse/ADF/SQL Server/PBI/Azure API/Azure Analysis Services/Purview/Visual Studio/Azure DevOps/Fabric.
- Experience in developing and governing Data Principles, Policies, Standards, Processes and Procedures.
- Experience in Data Quality and Data Governance.
- Experience of developing data architecture capabilities for operational and analytical systems.
- Experience with an Enterprise Data Catalogue and Business Glossary.
- Experience of cloud data technologies, enterprise integration tools and Extract, Transformation and Load (ETL) tools.
- Understanding of the data lifecycle and implications for GDPR.
- Some form of programming language experience (ideally Python).
- Knowledge of data security best practices.
