On behalf of DWP we are looking for an Agile Delivery Manager for a 7 month (Inside IR35) contract. Hybrid working with 3 days per week required in either Manchester, Birmingham, Blackpool, Sheffield, Leeds or Newcastle.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. As such, we operate on a scale that is almost unmatched anywhere in Europe and most people in Britain come into contact with us at some point in their lives.
Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:
- Help people to move into work and support those already in work to progress, with the aim of increasing overall workforce participation
- Help people to plan and save for later life, while providing a safety net for those who need it now
- Provide effective, efficient, and innovative services to the millions of claimants who rely on us every day, including the most vulnerable in society
- Improve experience of our services while maximising value for money for the taxpayer.
We’re looking for someone who can do the hands-on delivery of products and end to end services. You will see them through from initiation to live.
You'll be a true leader who serves, steering from the front. You'll remove blockers and create the right environment for your multidisciplinary teams to succeed, helping them to self-sufficiency and creating a culture of learning and transparency.
You’ll use your agile expertise to build a culture of continuous improvement with high performing teams.
It’s a complex landscape and you’ll need your skills as a persuasive and engaging communicator. You’ll solve cross-cutting problems and use your experience of delivery to get the job done.
Day-to-day you will be working with experts in engineering, business process design, user research, user experience design and policy development.
Essential:
- Experience of delivering digital products and services at pace in an agile environment.
- Experience of providing support and guidance to members of the delivery teams and acting as a point of escalation for issues impacting delivery.
- Experience of promoting a healthy team culture, managing team dynamics and fostering a continuous improvement environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of motivating high performing teams.
- Ability to communicate in a straightforward, transparent and engaging manner.
- Public Sector experience.
Desirable:
- ServiceNow experience.
- ITSM knowledge and experience.
