Description & Requirements

On behalf of FCDO we are looking for an Information Security Help Desk Analyst (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Hybrid working with travel to either London, Milton Keynes or Glasgow as and when required.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Information Security Help Desk Analyst to serve as the first line of defence in our organization’s cybersecurity operations. The "Front Door" role involves monitoring and managing security systems, analysing threats, and ensuring that all entry points to our network are secure.


As a Information Security Help Desk Analyst your main responsibilities will be:


  • Proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks through real-time monitoring and threat intelligence.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to enforce best practices in access control and identity management.
  • Conducting regular audits and vulnerability assessments to strengthen our security posture.
  • Ensuring timely response to security incidents, documenting findings, and recommending preventive measures.
  • You will work closely with other security professionals and departments to provide a cohesive and effective security framework.


Essential:


  • An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.) 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in a cybersecurity or IT-related role.
  • Experience with incident response and forensic analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
