On behalf of ONS, we are looking for 2 x E- learning Training Specialists (INSIDE IR35) for a hybrid contract till December 2026 based in Titchfield, Hampshire.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the UK’s largest producer of official statistics, covering a range of key economic, social and demographic topics. These include measuring changes in the value of the UK economy, estimating the size, geographic distribution and characteristics of the population, and providing indicators of price inflation, employment, earnings, crime and migration.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape how training is designed, delivered, and evaluated for a national field workforce. The successful candidates will play a key role in reviewing existing Census training materials, developing engaging e-learning content, and ensuring training is effectively deployed through Learning Management Systems (LMS).
As an E - learning Training Specialists, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of training solutions for Census 2027 field operations.
- Review and enhance existing Census training materials from previous programmes.
- Create both standard and enhanced learning pathways for different field-based roles.
- Work with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to upload, organise, test, deploy, and track training content.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define, challenge, and refine training requirements.
- Work closely with external suppliers responsible for learning platforms and delivery components.
- Introduce modern learning methodologies and innovative approaches to improve learner engagement.
- Ensure training remains aligned to changing operational requirements and evolving programme needs.
- Monitor training completion and support strategies to improve learner uptake and compliance.
- Conduct testing and quality assurance of training materials prior to deployment.
- Support programme delivery within tight deadlines and changing priorities.
Essential:
- Significant experience working as a Training or Digital Learning professional.
- Proven experience designing and developing training solutions from concept through to implementation.
- Hands on approach in creating structured training programmes and learning journeys rather than solely delivering training.
- Understanding of modern learning methodologies and learner engagement techniques.
Desirable:
- Strong background in e-learning development and digital learning environments.
- Experience creating engaging, accessible, and effective learning content.
