Description & Requirements


On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Technical Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a contract which is up to the end of March 2026 and is a hybrid role so requires 4 days a month in the Swindon office


UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is the national funding agency investing in science and research in the UK.


LotW Project Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and delivery of the LotW programme across UKRI. Working closely with DD Technology Services, the Head of Information & Collaboration Services, and the Programme Delivery Manager, the PM will own the delivery roadmap, manage SME resources, and oversee all aspects of execution including change, communications, and stakeholder engagement.


As a Technical Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Develop and manage the LotW implementation and delivery plan
  • Lead budget and resource planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Own RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) management
  • Define and implement business change and impact assessments
  • Manage internal and external communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Oversee supplier relationships and performance
  • Identify and manage critical dependencies across workstreams
  • Deliver training and change communications where needed
  • Escalate and justify the need for specialist resources as required


Essential Skills


  • Proven experience of implementing Windows 11 upgrade or an operating system role out
  • Strong background in End User Device (EUD) operations
  • Expertise in RAID management and project governance
  • Experience in planning and reporting (ideally using Verto or similar tools)
  • Budget and financial management capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across a team at all levels
  • Experience in business change delivery and impact mapping
  • Supplier management and contract oversight
  • Strong self starter with a proactive approach to all duties
