AMS PSR

On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract which is a hybrid role so does require up to 2 days a month in the Swindon office

As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

• Plan, coordinate, and manage delivery activities across multiple workstreams and suppliers, ensuring interdependencies are clearly understood and controlled.
• Monitor progress against milestones, deliverables, and agreed outcomes, taking corrective action where performance deviates from plan.
• Define and maintain an appropriate programme delivery structure, aligned to organisational standards and the nature of the work being delivered.
• Act as a central point of coordination between stakeholders, Programme Leadership, delivery teams, and commercial functions.
• Track supplier execution progress against agreed plans (e.g. Jira Epics, work packages, or milestone schedules) to ensure transparency of delivery status.
• Prepare and present clear, evidence based progress reports for senior stakeholders and governance forums.

Essential Skills

• Extensive experience of software development across a large project of work ideally within central government
• Experience of PMO in the delivery of projects of work
• Proven experience managing complex programmes or projects involving multiple suppliers and delivery partners.
• Development and ongoing management of integrated delivery plans, including dependencies, milestones, and critical paths.
• Experience managing or contributing to upgrade or modernisation projects involving JavaScript-based applications.
• Sufficient technical understanding to engage credibly with architects, engineers, and suppliers, assess delivery risk, and challenge technical assumptions.
• Confident stakeholder management across senior leaders, delivery teams, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Qualification in a recognised project or programme management framework (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, SAFe, or equivalent).
