On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a PMO Coordinator (Inside IR35) for a contract which is to the 1st December 2025 possible extension and is a hybrid role which requires 1 day a week in the Swindon office


The UKRI Project Delivery and Improvement (PD&I) PMO provides programme, project and change management together with business analysis support, leading the design, implementation and embedding of change across UKRI to deliver its vision and realise its strategic objectives. We are a team of around 50 working on a range of assignments; some of our projects support research initiatives and activities, but the primary focus of our work is to lead and deliver business change, including the implementation of new corporate systems, operating environment and organisational structures and the development of strategies and processes.


We are seeking a proactive and highly organised individual to join the UKRI Project Delivery and Improvement (PD&I) team as the Project Profession Centre PMO Coordinator. This role is central to supporting the Project Profession Centre team -including the Project Profession Lead, Communications and Engagement Manager, and Capability Manager - by ensuring the smooth operation of tools, systems, and events that underpin project delivery excellence across UKRI. The successful candidate will also provide flexible business support to the wider PD&I PMO as required.


As a PMO Coordinator, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Provide day-to-day support for project management and capability tools, including user queries, issue resolution, and system maintenance.
  • Help coordinate the delivery of high-quality Project Profession events and CPD activities.
  • Maintain and manage stakeholder data and respond to information requests.
  • Assist in building strong working relationships across UKRI and partner organisations.
  • Organise key meetings, manage documentation with robust version control, and provide secretariat support.
  • Produce accurate minutes, actions, and reports from meetings and technical discussions.
  • Provide flexible business support across the wider PD&I PMO team as directed by the Head of Department.
  • Help maintain and develop the Project Profession knowledge management sites (e.g. SharePoint / Microsoft Teams / the Source, ensuring continuous improvement of the Profession’s knowledge management artefacts, assets, and events listings.


Essential Skills


  • Experience of arranging meetings and of taking and producing minutes, decisions and actions, with the ability to accurately capture and distil key points, including technical discussions.
  • Experience of customer support, first point of contact across a busy team
  • Experience across 1st line IT support with the skillset of managing database users
  • Proven stakeholder management and customer service capabilities.
  • Event management and commercial Experience
  • Excellent written communication skills, including a good working knowledge of MS Office packages (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

  • Project qualification – foundation
  • Experience of managing and/or supporting the delivery of events
