Description & Requirements

On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a HR Caseworker - Inside IR35 for a 3 month contract working on a Hybrid basis (1 day per week in Swindon office and remaining WFH)

Role purpose:

The purpose of the role is to provide project support to the UKRI HR Employee Relations (ER) team, focusing on the development and delivery of documentation to ensure efficient and effective delivery of casework.


The role will involve working closely with ER leads and advisors to understand and map out processes and develop new proposals and frameworks. Engagement with stakeholders will be key to ensuring deliverables meet the needs of the ER team and align with the UKRI people strategy.


The main duties and responsibilities of the HR Caseworker would be:

  • Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enable a clear and consistent approach across HR. Topics to be delivered include: Efficiency Exit Payments, TUPE / COSoP, Ending Employment when Visa Expires and Ill-Health Retirement (already well developed)
  • Develop an approach to how we select, train, and maintain a cadre of experienced Hearing Managers across UKRI to support with formal processes. To include a maintained list of HMs, training requirements, role and responsibilities, time commitments, feedback mechanisms, upskilling and a review/maintenance process.
  • Support continued development of guidance and a toolkit on outlining how to reintegrate employees back into the workplace/team effectively following an investigation/formal process.
  • Development of processes and guidelines for redeploying employees where their role is at risk of redundancy. To include key considerations, approvals, risks etc.
  • Support project to create and map out end to end case management processes, in line with UKRI policy, embedding best practice and optimal case management approaches. This will include roles, responsibilities, stakeholder management, frequency of engagement with stakeholders, well-being options, data governance etc.
  • If time permits, working with the UKRI data protection team to develop data protection/governance training and a data risk identification process to mitigate risk and embed best practice for HR teams.
  • Any additional project work that is deemed necessary/priority by the ER Team.


Essential:

  • Previous HR experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and support stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage own workload effectively.
  • Proactive, results-focused approach with a strong record of delivery.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and strong IT skills.
