On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Diversity and Inclusion Manager (Inside IR35) for a 3 Month contract based Remotely however, occasional office attendance in Swindon will be required

The Workforce EDI Team is a Centre of Expertise and forms part of the Culture, Inclusion and Learning department within our HR function. Working closely with colleagues across HR and our research councils, you will provide expert guidance and support to embed EDI in UKRI. You will contribute to the delivery of the EDI programme and objectives set out in the EDI plan, specifically supporting, or leading on actions that build EDI capability and confidence across our workforce


As a Diversity and Inclusion Manager (Inside IR35) your main responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver specific projects and priorities identified in the EDI Plan including working with stakeholders, gathering evidence and researching good practice to enable the creation of a diverse and inclusive workplace. Key deliverables of the role include:
  • Design and implement a work adjustment passport and associated resources.
  • Review dignity and respect support provisions with a view to establishing fair treatment ambassador’s programme.
  • Design and develop EDI toolkits and resources to support learning and awareness.
  • Act as a point of contact for EDI queries, providing expert advice to staff, managers, and HR colleagues as required, as well as managing EDI issues and risks.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the Workforce EDI team, and Culture Inclusion and Learning to develop a centre of expertise in EDI.


Essential:

  • EDI expertise to support an inclusive culture and shape people practices.
  • Experience of designing and creating EDI toolkits and resources
  • Experience of facilitating and managing focus groups
  • Stakeholder engagement experience
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Experience working in an EDI role, team or in a relevant function, providing expert advice and support.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and demonstrable understanding of equality legislation, employment law and HR and EDI policies and practices.
  • Strong personal working, planning, organisation, and delivery skills; able to balance corporate, team and individual priorities; work proactively with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent collaboration, relationship, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively across multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders, explaining complicated matters simply.
  • Ability to manage EDI issues and risks, with discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Research skills with the ability to analyse and evaluate qualitative and quantitative information in order to inform practice and provide recommendations.
  • Microsoft Office experience


Desirable:

  • Experience of delivering disability inclusion initiatives
  • Experience in managing projects or programmes
  • HR or EDI qualification or CIPD membership
