They work across a huge range of fields – from biodiversity conservation to quantum computing, and from space telescopes to innovative health care. They give everyone the opportunity to contribute and to benefit, bringing together people and organisations nationally and globally to create, develop and deploy new ideas and technologies.

As a Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Define requirements across all four GCSS workstreams, ensuring clear alignment between business needs, security objectives, and technical solutions.
  • Produce structured documentation including business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to support delivery and testing.
  • Map and analyse “as-is” and “to-be” processes, particularly for security architecture, asset lifecycle management, incident response, and security operations.
  • Conduct gap analysis and impact assessments to identify control weaknesses, security risks, and opportunities for improvement aligned to ISO27001 and government standards.
  • Support solution design and validation by working closely with architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure proposed solutions meet requirements and deliver intended outcomes.
  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration and sign-off, ensuring requirements are agreed, changes are controlled, and delivered capabilities meet business and security expectations.

Essential:

  • Strong experience in requirements gathering, definition, and documentation, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Proven ability to perform process mapping (AS-IS / TO-BE) and gap analysis, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Effective stakeholder management and collaboration skills, including facilitating alignment, sign-off, and supporting solution delivery with technical teams.
  • Experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM)

Desirable:

  • Public sector experience

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
