Description & Requirements

On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Data Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 7 Month contract based REMOTELY with occasional visits to Swindon.

As a data engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Develop, maintain and support of ETL routines managed in a cloud-based environment. 
  • Development and testing of code within the data infrastructure environment, ensuring that appropriate data quality, integrity and alerting is built into all solutions. 
  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts to understand the organisation’s essential data requirements and to manage the organisation’s data assets. 
  • Assessment and evaluation of any proposed data/system changes that might impact data performance, models or reports and recommend amendments if required. 
  • Support development of processes that ensure standards and procedures are correctly applied and take responsibility for the quality of own work.


You will have:

  • Extensive ETL/ELT development project experience including the designing, developing and building of pipelines, preferably including Talend Data Fabric. 
  • Knowledge of MySQL and SQL Server databases with the ability to query multiple databases. 
  • Knowledge of Cloud based platforms. 
  • Experience of relational database design, including physical, canonical and logical design. 
  • Knowledge of varied software development tools, methods and technologies. 
  • Java/Python coding experience and exposure to
