On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for X2 Senior Business Analysts (Inside IR35) for a contract until mid-December 2026. This is a hybrid working role (one day per week onsite - Sandhurst). Additional travel to other sites is required - expenses will be paid.

Job Purpose:
You will be at the centre of enacting a complex, system-wide review of RHQ activity, including bringing analytical coherence to ongoing research projects in addition to new work strands, then delivering actionable recommendations that drive meaningful organisational change.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
As a Senior Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:
- Review and support the cohering of existing projects (the role of RHQs in warfighting, the future of Welfare and Benevolence, Army Museum Strategy) to help identify challenges and opportunities
- Map how RHQs operate (structure, outputs, operating models)
- Understand how and why models differ across the network
- Analyse interactions with internal and external stakeholders
- Diagnose capability gaps, inefficiencies, and duplication
- Surface activities that sit outside formal tasking or add limited value
- Challenge existing assumptions and ways of working
- Identify best practice across RHQs and recommend scalable approaches
- Develop options to streamline and standardise processes where appropriate
- Recommend how digital tools could improve delivery and reduce burden
Essential:
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end business analysis in complex organisations
- Ability to work independently to intent, with minimal direction
- Strong analytical capability across mixed data sources (qualitative + quantitative)
- Experience identifying and delivering process improvement and digital transformation
- Ability to operate at pace, prioritising across competing demands
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complexity into clear outputs
Desirable:
- Experience working with or within the Armed Forces or public sector
- Understanding of organisational design, operating models, or transformation delivery
