AMS PSR

On behalf of the MOD - DSTL, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract. This is a hybrid working role (three days per week onsite - Salisbury or Portsmouth).

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 

As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

• Overseeing the delivery of the project to ensure that objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
• Play a key role in project governance, working with stakeholders to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable the projected benefits to be realised.
• Design the project structure appropriate to stage, selecting and applying relevant delivery methodologies.
• Ensure benefits are identified, understood, measured, tracked and owned. Identify and monitor project risks and issues.
• Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
• Ensure effective change management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
• Experience in the delivery of projects, governance and risk control frameworks.

Essential:

• Existing knowledge of best practice in the delivery of projects;
• A passion for innovation;
• The ability to lead, influence and motivate an extensive team to deliver exploitable project outputs;
• The ability to manage and influence stakeholders to ensure project success.
• People skills to develop good working relationships with all parts of the wider defence and security innovation ecosystem, including the Defence Innovation Unit and Front Line Commands Innovation Hubs, a range of security customers and Government departments as well as internal Programme and Project managers.
