On behalf of HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) we are looking for a Contracts Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract on a remote basis (travel expected as and when required, as well as occasional office attendance to closest hub)
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England & Wales. Their roles support service users and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life-changing justice. The role:
The Contract Manager supports the Head of Service to ensure HMCTS and pan MOJ contracts meet their objectives and deliver the required outputs and benefits in supporting the administration of justice, and continue to meet our needs, both at a day to day service level but also considering the evolution of requirements and capability to support the delivery of justice into the future.
The role will act as a primary stakeholder to represent the interests of HMCTS and the judiciary in contract management issues and be responsible for the day-to-day operational contract management and/or stakeholder engagement, with/for a range of contracted services across the wider portfolio of contracts that support court and tribunal business.
As a Contracts Manager your main responsibilities will be:
- Manage and lead of a small team of Contract Managers working on contracted services from across the Division’s portfolio.
- Responsible for a portfolio of contracts which are wide ranging and at different stages of maturity.
- Proactively drive forward improvement opportunities and ensure contracted services are correctly positioned to facilitate HMCTS Operational Delivery and regularly seek out opportunities to provide more responsive services.
- Accountable for the identification, assessment and management of risks relating to their portfolio of contracts.
Essential:
- Capable operational contract management professional with experience of managing contracts and services, including commercial awareness and/or knowledge of contract or service delivery in the courts; ensuring that through working with others the courts do what is necessary for them to ensure effective service delivery.
- Stakeholder engagement skills and supplier management experience with a proven track record of gaining positive outcomes through proactive supplier/stakeholder relationship management.
- Excellent people leadership skills with experience of managing a team with a clear focus on wellbeing and development and be comfortable in actively championing diversity and inclusion across the team.
- Planning skills to be able to develop contract management plans and/or guidance that will meet core areas of operational contracted service delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to articulate the contract service management issues and provide consistent and compelling advice to senior management and stakeholders.
