On behalf of The Home Office, we are looking for an Assistant Commercial Manager Inside IR35 for a 6 month contract based Remotely (with occasional visits to London or Manchester office)

About the role:

The Commercial PNC/S Team requires an experienced Commercial Interim to provide Senior Executive Officer (SEO) cover, capacity, and capability for the PNC/S, which is Critical National Infrastructure, operating on a 24/7, 365 days/year basis, and enables frontline policing operations and ultimately, public safety outcomes.


Please note, SC clearance is an essential criteria for this role. As a minimum, candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo clearance.


The main duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Commercial Manager would be to:

  • Be a key team member focusing on procurement requirements and contract management of PNC/S’s key suppliers, not limited to MNCs and SMEs.
  • Work closely with internal, delivery and operations-focused stakeholders, as well as policing partners; e.g. NPCC, OCiP, and PDS.
  • Advise on procurement routes, commercial risk and opportunity, identifies savings opportunities and leads on negotiating services and costs with suppliers.
  • Frequently joint review supplier activity and benefit along with programme colleagues via traditional performance management tools and processes.
  • Advising your team and programme colleagues on deciding the best approach, helping them to understand governance and timeframes for delivery of commercial requirements


Essential:

  • You’ll have a demonstrable passion for Commercial Management and Procurement
  • Experience building strong, strategic relationships with the ability to understand, empathise, negotiate and influence individuals and groups
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in the delivery of hardware and software
  • The ability to collaborate with product, delivery and finance colleagues to ensure alignment of requirements and process
  • Recent experience of working in the commercial delivery of technology
  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to turn longer term goals and business outcomes into strategic and tactical solutions as required
