Description & Requirements

On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Senior IT Commercial Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 months contract based REMOTELY


The Cabinet Office supports the Prime Minister and ensures the effective running of government. The Cabinet Office is also the corporate headquarters for the government, in partnership with HM Treasury, and takes the lead in certain critical policy areas. The role will focus on the Digital portfolio and will require extensive experience in working within a Digal procurement environment; having insight into the digital professional services market, being comfortable with CCS DDAT frameworks e.g. Digital Outcomes & Specialists, G-Cloud, Technology Services & Digital Programmes & Specialists and managing Supplier relationships.


As a  Senior IT Commercial Manager , your main responsibilities will be:


  • Lead the commercial approach for Digital Services requirements within CO; including the shaping of commercial strategy, coordinating delivery of the pipeline.
  • Lead the commercial relationship with the category’s strategic sourcing partner
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships across BUs, Suppliers and Minister’s Private Office to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Lead the commercial assurance of Digital Services requirements, delivering recommendations to senior decision makers. Act as commercial expert as part of CO-Digital front door process.


Essential:


  • Proven ability to lead commercial strategy and delivery for digital services in complex public sector environments.
  • Strong experience managing strategic supplier relationships and negotiating digital commercial agreements.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement across government departments, suppliers, and senior leadership.
  • Expertise in digital procurement, including interpreting complex proposals and applying market insights to inform decisions.
  • Track record of delivering multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
