Description & Requirements
On behalf of The Department For Business and Trade (DBT), we are looking for a Part Time Finance Administrator (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract based REMOTELY with occasional travel.
As a Part Time Finance Administrator, your main responsibilities will be:
- Manage end-to-end P2P processes, including supplier set-up, requisitions, and payment tracking, ensuring timely and accurate transactions
- Lead the preparation and submission of monthly cash forecasts, working with stakeholders to assess risks, variances, and funding requirements
- Maintain accurate financial records and audit trails, ensuring documentation is complete, organised, and compliant
- Provide financial analysis and reporting support, including transaction reviews, reconciliations, and ad hoc insights
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholder queries, delivering clear and timely guidance on payments and financial processes
- Support continuous improvement by developing guidance, training, and finance capability across teams, including grant and system processes
Essential:
- Experience in transactional finance or finance operations, including P2P processes (supplier set-up, purchase orders, payments)
- Experience with cash forecasting, financial data gathering, or reporting, working to fixed deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and audit trails
- Good analytical skills, including reviewing financial data and identifying risks or discrepancies
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to stakeholders effectively
Desirable:
- Experience working with finance systems (e.g. Oracle) or within a shared services environment (e.g. UKSBS)
- Exposure to grants finance or public sector financial processes
