Description & Requirements

On behalf of Care Quality Commission, we are looking for a Financial Modeller (Inside IR35) Until End of March 2026 contract based REMOTELY.


Support assessing the total cost of the CQC operating model and understanding costs in relation to CQC’s core activities, the Fees Scheme and other analysis that is appropriate. Contribute to the promotion of this work and its use by CQC across the organisation.


As a Financial Modeller, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Maintain, update and refine financial models that allows analysis of CQC’s financial position
  • Maintain, update and refine a financial model that allows analysis of CQC’s future Income and Expenditure over a Five Year Period
  • Maintain the calculation of fully absorbed costs of CQC’s key activities
  • Provide ad-hoc costing analysis and support to the business
  • Refine and maintain allocation and apportionment rules
  • Analyse costs and show breakdown between direct and indirect costs and overheads
  • Analyse across activities and sectors and produce narrative reports which interpret the results
  • Publish data internally to the key groups
  • Liaise with finance colleagues ensure that costs agree and reconcile, and that messages, explanations and conclusions align
  • Report benchmarking information which will drive CQCs approach to VFM
  • Have the appropriate knowledge, skills and experience to actively promote diversity and equality of opportunity, treat everyone with dignity and respect and avoid unlawful discrimination 
  • Support the finance function in creating and maintaining systems and tools currently in use


Essential:


  • Qualified Accountant.
  • IT literate and good spreadsheet skills.
  • Good analytical and interpretive skills with the ability to communicate those results in clear and understandable terms.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. 
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Experience of D365 Dynamics.
