AMS PSR

On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a Senior Planner (Inside IR35) for a 14 month hybrid contract based in the Reading area.

What if you could work on something that you can’t test… but cannot afford to fail? AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. As a Senior Planner, your main responsibilities will be:

• Providing Planning expertise to internal customers within the projects supported.
• Implementing Planning processes, policies and procedures within the projects supported.
• Producing Planning and EV deliverables in accordance with agreed business rhythm within the projects.
• The delivery of long range operational integrated Programme Planning activities.
• Supporting the Business Management Manager with emergent projects as directed by Business Controller.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with and awareness of key project stakeholders.

Essential:

• Proficient in P6 Primavera, with demonstrable experience in planning and scheduling complex programmes.
• Possess large-scale programme delivery experience.
• Excellent understanding of programme scale and complexity, with the ability to navigate interdependencies and strategic priorities.
• Experienced in operating within a matrix management environment, collaborating across multiple stakeholders and functional teams.
• Ideally, a background in or some understanding of the Defence Sector.
• SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
